My name is Neliona Moutsou, and I am an integrative counsellor specialising in trauma and anxiety. As the founder of Journey to the Heart Counselling, I offer in-person therapy in Edinburgh as well as online counselling to support individuals across the UK.
If you are here, you may be feeling stuck at this point in your life. Perhaps you have struggled with anxiety for years, experiencing its overwhelming and often frightening symptoms.
You may be dealing with intrusive thoughts, sleepless nights, or a sense of disconnection from the world around you. Anxiety can manifest physically, creating a heavy tension in your stomach, throat, or chest. Or perhaps you are experiencing persistent sadness, low self-esteem, or a loss of identity, making it difficult to connect with others or find motivation. Life transitions can also trigger fear, uncertainty, and self-doubt, leaving you feeling lost. You may even be struggling with trauma flashbacks, reliving painful memories from the past that seem impossible to escape.

If any of these resonate with you, I want you to know that you are not alone. Having personally experienced trauma and anxiety, I understand how these challenges can shape your sense of self and make you feel disconnected from who you truly are. I also know how isolating it can be to live with anxiety and its overwhelming symptoms—leading to feelings of being "broken" or "not good enough."

But I want to reassure you: there is nothing wrong with you. Your mind is not broken; it is simply trying to tell you that it is time for healing and transformation.

How I can help
I take a holistic approach to my work, meaning I see and support the whole person—mind, emotions, body, soul, and spirit. As a highly sensitive and intuitive counsellor, my aim is to create a space where you feel truly safe and comfortable.
Together, we will explore the parts of you that are in pain, the emotions that need to be heard, and the experiences that have shaped how you see yourself and the world. My intuition will gently guide us to what is ready to surface, allowing us to work at a pace that feels right for you.
We will explore your subconscious mind and what lies beneath the surface. This includes identifying parts of you that have experienced trauma, recognising the negative beliefs formed in childhood, and understanding how these patterns affect your relationship with yourself and others.
Together, we will uncover the fears that keep your heart guarded and the self-perceptions that no longer serve you. Perhaps it is time to let go of the old narratives and step into a truer, more compassionate version of yourself.
